Launch Recap

  • You were all awesome!!! Thank you so much to everyone who invested time, money, soap, dryer sheets, thoughts, ideas, prayers and anything else. I appreciate it and more importantly, the individuals and families who you helped last night appreciate it.

    The Numbers

    ~35 families

    ~100 loads

    ~$210

    ~30 volunteers

If anyone has pictures from last night please send them to me asap. I only took video and there is a well known Santa Ana blog looking to do a write up.

Please remember the stories, remember the faces of the people you met last night. Tell your friends, small groups, faith communities, room mates, bar mates, bowling leagues, family members, etc. those stories and bring them out so they can be a part of what you have all accomplished. It was amazing to see volunteers from THINK Together, Templo Calvario, Saint City Sessions, 511, Newsong and folks who just stumbled across the website all working together to serve the community. We want to see more and more collaboration and connection develop from this project.

A few thoughts for the future

For all who graciously invested soap in this project, thank you so much! We do ask that in the future you bring powdered detergent as it is easier to store, measure and a bit less messy.

We need to make sure that all loads we help with get logged with our greeter. We have several spots where washes are marked with no dry’s. May have dried them themselves, but wanted to clarify that. We want to be good stewards, have a high degree of transparency and accurately tell the story of the good that you are all doing.

Lastly, and most importantly, we would love to hear your thoughts, ideas, dreams for the future of Laundry Love Santa Ana. We also are going to be trying to get some commitments to make sure that we are “staffed” for the next several Laundry Love Santa Ana events. Hit us up to have someone get in touch with you regarding scheduling.
